It is a true blessing to get to spend time with your preschooler. I pray that Sunday is your child’s favorite day because he/she gets to come to Explorers. I have tried to answer many questions that you as a parent may have and want answers to before you feel comfortable leaving your preschooler in Explorers. I pray that the following will help you see that we truly love your preschooler and want them to be happy and safe.
How do you choose workers for Explorers classes?
We pray for God to show us who He has for Explorers. We ask all that show interest in teaching in Explorers to pray about it to make sure this is the area God has called them to serve in. Then they meet with the Minister of Preschool to discuss what their role. After this is done and they have agreed to the guidelines of the Explorers teacher handbook Journey Church does a background check on the person interested.
What is Explorers security Guidelines?
We want you to feel comfortable leaving your preschooler in our care. That is why we at Journey Church feel that security must be of high importance. For the safety of all preschooler who attend Explorers we ask that you do the following things each time so that we may obtain the security that we feel is of most importance.
Who can pick up my preschooler from his/her Explorers class?
We ask that the parents bring and pick up their preschooler. We understand that sometimes someone else needs to pick your preschooler up for Explorers. This can only be done if he/she is over 18 and has the parent part of the preschooler’s name tag.
How do I sign my preschooler into his/her class?
In the foyer, you will see the Explorers Preschool registration table. This is where you will sign your preschooler in and make a name tag for your child. This tag is important because it has a matching number which appears on the child's name tag as well as the name tag the parent will keep. If for any reason we may need contact with the parent during a worship service, the number will appear on the screen. If/when you see your child's number on the screen, please report to your child's classroom. Also, for safety and security measures we ask that at the end of the worship service, when picking up your child from his/her room, please give the teacher your matching name tag to confirm pickup for your preschooler. This way we make sure that each preschooler is picked up by the appropriate person. Please remember that at least one parent must remain on campus while your preschooler attends an Explorers classroom. This ensures that we can reach you in the event of an emergency.
What are your polices for sick preschoolers?
Young children are very susceptible to cold, flu and other diseases. We realize that a child's illness can be a difficult time for parents and that it is often frustrating to rearrange your schedule to provide care for a sick child at home.
We want to help eliminate these concerns as much as possible. The best way to prevent illness is to prevent exposure. This requires our Preschool Area to have the healthiest environment possible by following these guidelines.
Please keep your child at home if they have shown any of the following symptoms in the last 24 hours:
- Fever
- Vomiting
- Discharge in or around the eyes
- Green or yellow runny nose
- Excessive coughing
- Diarrhea
- Questionable rash
- Any communicable disease
If your child is being treated with an antibiotic, he or she should have received treatment for at least 24 hours before coming to church. We can not give your child medicine while they are at Explorers.
