The leadership team at Journey comes from all walks of life. One thing they all have in common is a desire to see people that are disconnected from God come into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. Please check out the staff bio or drop them an e-mail for more information.
I’m Mike Mozingo, pastor here at Journey Church in Prattville, AL. I was raised in south Alabama near Mobile and graduated from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, where I met my beautiful wife Laurie. We were married in 1992 and have three really cool boys that are growing up way too fast; Hunter, Zachary, and Christian.
I've served on the staff of churches in Texas, Florida, and Alabama before moving here to plant Journey Church. It has been an incredible adventure and it’s not over yet. I've never been more excited about ministry than I am right now. God branded this vision on my heart many years ago and to see it come to fruition in His timing is beyond words. We look forward to what God has in store and we know God is impacting our community through Journey Church.
Favorite Scripture: “Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare of the LORD: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I am trusting him.” Psalm 91: 1-2
Hi, I'm Daniel Bridgman, Executive Pastor here at Journey Church. I was raised just outside of Tallassee, AL and am a graduate of Luther Rice University and Liberty University. In 2004 my wife, Erica, made me the most blessed man in the world when she became my wife. We have one energetic daughter, Madison, who loves to dance.
Before coming to Journey I had the privilege of serving churches in central and south Alabama. I believe that God has great things in store for Journey Church and I am honored that me and my family get to be a part of them.
Favorite Scripture: "The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life." John 10:10
Hi, I'm Karen Davis... I'm a wife and mother of three awesome kids and here at Journey Church, I'm the office manager. Wow...life can get pretty busy but I wouldn't change a thing...I love every minute of it! In 2004, I married my wonderful husband Billy. He is truly the love of my life. We live here in Prattville and have been married 11 years. My son Will plays football at Marbury High School and both our girls Lacie and Melanie love gymnastics, cheerleading and softball. Our family joined Journey Church about 10 years ago and have seen so many incredible things happen here. My husband and I love being involved with life groups at Journey to connect with others and build lasting relationships. Also, part of “doing life” in life groups is that you get to see lives being changed and people growing closer to Christ. It is so awesome to see God at work in the lives of others. I am blessed to be part of a great team reaching out to our community so that people may come to know Christ. I love Journey Church!
Favorite Scripture: "Be joyous in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer." Romans 12:12
Hey There! I’m Wendy Tudela . I am the assistant to the executive team here at Journey Church. After ten years of volunteering behind the scenes I have the privilege of being on staff. So here I am! I was born in Ashtabula, Ohio. I was serving in the US Navy when I met and married the superb Jay Tudela in 2001. We have three adorable young men, Devin, Joesph and Matthew. (That’s right I’m the only girl. Even my dogs are boys. I am the queen of my castle.) We love the Lord and are blessed to serve in His honor. We have been attending Journey Church since January 2016.
Favorite Scripture: You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5: 14-16
Hey y’all! I’m Matt Brown, Worship Pastor here at Journey. I was raised in Niceville, FL (totally serious) and attended the University of West Florida in Pensacola. During this time, I developed a passion for music and graphic design.
I took my first ministry position at the age of 23. After a few years, I transitioned into graphic design and traveled most weekends. About a year ago, I felt the call to leave the Pensacola area which, in turn, led me here to Journey! I am beyond excited about being a part of the team and can’t wait to see what God has in store for all of us!
Favorite Scripture - “Go and learn what this means, I desire mercy, and not sacrifice. For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” – Matthew 9: 13
Hi, I'm John Rees, Student Pastor at Journey Church. I was raised here in Prattville, AL and graduated from Auburn University Montgomery. I will be receiving my Master's in Theological Studies from Gateway Seminary in the Spring of 2018. In August of 2012, I married Hannah who is also from Prattville, and we have spent our time working alongside one another to share Christ with the world around us. We have a one year old, Samuel, who loves people and is a blast to hang out with
Before coming to Journey I had the opportunity to be involved in other youth groups both here locally and in Colorado, as well as leading a soccer ministry that used the sport to build relationships with teens from over 15 different countries around the world.
Favorite Scriptures: "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes..." Romans 1:16
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:1-2
Hi, I'm Kendra Burgess. I graduated summa cum laude from Walden University in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in Health Studies and a concentration in Health Promotion and Wellness. I am currently working on my Masters in Health Education.
I have had the amazing privilege to work in many positions in my time at Journey. I started as a part time teacher in our weekday preschool program. A year later I was hired as an office assistant to the directors. I later worked as Director of Development, developing curriculum and training for our preschool students and teachers. In October of 2015 I began working for the church as Production & Ministry Coordinator. Currently, I serve as Dream Team and Growth Track Director overseeing all of our volunteer teams and our Growth Track process. I can't express how the heart of our volunteers continues to surprise and inspire me on a regular basis! God is doing great things here at Journey and I am thankful for the small role I get to play!
Favorite Scripture: "Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstance, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. Do not stifle the Holy Spirit. Do no scoff at prophecies, but test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good". 1Thessalonians 5: 16-21
Hi! I am Allison Hollis, Preschool Director here at Journey Church. I am married to my best friend Todd, and together we have four beautiful children, Mary Lacey, Brady, Miles, and Beckham. We are members of Journey Church and have fallen in love with the people and staff that encompass it. I love to sing, so I have used that gift to serve on the Journey Church Praise Team and I absolutely love being able to lead others to Christ through music. I’ve been working with children for the past 11 years and am also a Registered Dental Assistant. I love photography and the “unexpected moments” that can be caught through an image.
Favorite Scripture: “He must become more, I must become less” John 3:30
Hi I am Todd Hollis the Next Generation Coordinator here at Journey Church. I was raised in an Air Force family, so home is any and everywhere. However, I would call Biloxi, MS my true home. My beautiful wife Allison and I are blessed to have four lovely children. I am currently serving in the United States Military in the Chaplain Corps. I am a graduate of Touro University International and currently pursuing my Masters in Theology. I love basketball and football, I'll always be cheering on the New Orleans Saints!
My heart lies in reaching young adults that are disconnected from God and to make them Ambassadors for Christ. This happens through the relationship that we develop with Jesus Christ through teaching His word. Next 1825 is the bridge from high school to college and into the workforce. This ministry is dedicated to this verse "And I heard a voice of the Lord saying Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" Then I said, "Here I am! Send me." Isaiah 6:8
Favorite Scripture: “Faith it is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” Hebrews 11:1
